LINER NOTES / DVL-1

Two stories. One fire-breather.

The DVL-1 is William DuVall’s signature amp. William is an Atlanta guy, a tremendous guitarist and singer, and Alice in Chains is a foundational band. He helped bring a genuine fire-breather to life with George Metropoulos.

That isn’t why I bought it. I bought it because George is a Marshall god, and the DVL-1 puts three of the Marshall worlds I care about into one amplifier. Dig deeper in the photos and there’s another layer: this one being produced at George’s factory.

And every amp and cabinet here gets protected. Look closely enough and you’ll find the Studio Slips bag too.

LINER NOTE / DVL-1

Built, not just bought.

The DVL-1 story goes deeper than the finished head. These are the build photos from George Metropoulos' shop—the chassis, wiring and hands-on work before the amp became the piece sitting in the collection.
